overcoming the hill behind s. vincenzo, just outside that seaside resort, "il cardinale" offers proximity to the sea, on the one hand, and quiet of the countryside, on the other. the complex of four buildings, the former holiday residence of a cardinal, insists on a panoramic area in all directions, between the sea, the cultivated fields and woods.
the relaxation provided by location of the structure, may be interrupted, perhaps with difficulty, to enjoy many opportunities offered by endless beaches between s. vincenzo and rimigliano, a day trip to charming island of elba, through piombino’s port far about a quarter of an hour. alternatively, you can relive the atmosphere of the past with a visit to medieval villages of campiglia marittima, suvereto, castagneto carducci and bolgheri. a rainy or windy day it will become a good opportunity for an excursion to cities of art and history in tuscany or latium as firenze, pisa, siena, roma, volterra and massa marittima, all to be enjoyed within one day or even half day. equally interesting, for day trips, are places of natural interest, such as mining-archaeological park of s. silvestro, the oasis of bolgheri and orbetello or nature park "dell’uccellina". for a day of total well-being only 5 km far there are the miraculous terme etrusche il calidario, with its hot spring water lake. from "il cardinale" is also possible to start hiking or biking, from countryside to sea or, through trails in the woods, to the villages nearby. all this does not exclude the possibility of living in holiday among sports centers, commercial centers, good restaurants, clubs or joining to numerous events organized by different administrations of the territory. a mild climate, always airy, will make a pleasant stay inside apartments and during activities you can do outdoors.
buildings are accessed by a gate that opens onto a boulevard on the parking lot and the interior courtyards. the areas for outdoor living are divided into common and reserved. the common areas include solarium, table tennis, games for children and three barbecues. in the reserved spaces, overlooking the flats, there are facilities for dining and outdoor living. practically, in the warm season, life goes on in these spaces, in total communion with the generous nature of this truly magical place. surrounded by the scent of flowers and cut grass, the desire to relax and enjoy the silence, broken only by the song of the cicadas, alternates with the desire to dive into that deep blue sea that stretches before us.
the apartments are located in three of the four existing buildings, while the fourth small cottage houses the reception and the laundry. the eleven units can accommodate from 2 to 11 adults in independent accommodations. each apartment has a kitchen or kitchenette, full bathroom, television. the decor is simple, yet comfortable and functional. guests may use, on demand, the washing machine. the owners will welcome and will say goodbye to guests on saturday or other days of the week as agreed at booking time. further at booking time will be given the bank account or post address to let you make the payment as an advance that will make valid that reservation.
